Day 13 - June 18

Saw the glorious Grand Canyon today! Jen and I visited 16 years ago, but the kids have never seen it, so it was nice to see it with them for the first time. It's too bad we didn't have the time to do more in the canyon, but that has been the story of this vacation. We wanted to see as much as we could in the two weeks we had.

We are staying in Williams, AZ tonight at a Howard Johnson. Old Route 66 runs right through the center of town. Williams was the last town to bypass Route 66 with Interstate 40. They truly take on the Route 66 theme and it was fun driving downtown a while ago and seeing all the shops, sites and a few live performance along the streets and outside some of the restaurants. Jen dropped us off and then went to look for a store that would sell something for swimmer's ear. Ben has been dealing with that the past couple days. For his sake (and ours), I hope she finds something.

Tomorrow, we will head back to Vegas and stop at the Hoover Dam on our way. I'm taking the kids down to the pool in a few minutes so I'll upload today's pics later.

  1. I loved the pictures of the Grand Canyon! The one with the rain coming was really neat.

  2. Thanks for following us, Aimee. We had a great time and saw so much! I am pooped, but it was all worth it. Jen looks forward to sharing more pictures with you. As much as we loved it, it will be good to get back home and sleep in our own beds and transition into a normal pattern of life again. The kids look forward to seeing their pets, friends and cousins again, as well. See you soon.
